Limerick 0-16, Cork 0-06

Unfancied Limerick pulled off the first shock of the year by taking the Munster champions' scalp in their own back yard.

The Shannonsiders ran out winners by 10 points in the rain at Pairc Ui Chaoimh as the Rebels collapsed.

Limerick's captain, Muiris Gavin, led by example and his side were 10 to 0-05 up at the break - with Gavin scoring five of those from frees.

Limerick extended their lead in the second-half, and despite Cork manager Larry Tompkins ringing the changes, the underdogs held out for a famous win.
