Oxfam hits out as quake cash runs short
The United Nations is warning that supplies are running dangerously low as the earthquake relief effort in Pakistan continues.
There are fears that helicopters which are being used to ferry food, tents and medicine to the survivors could be grounded within a week due to cash shortages.
The United Nations has to pay private operators for the use of choppers.
Meanwhile, Oxfam has published a league table showing how much money the world’s richest countries have given towards the South Asia earthquake appeal.
The charity has criticised them for failing to contribute enough to the UN’s relief effort.
Only Ireland, Sweden, Norway, and Luxembourg have apparently put in more than their fair share.
