There should be no "them or us" in the GAA - that's the view of outgoing Tipperary Board chairman Con Hogan at the Tipperary GAA Convention.
He was addressing the controversial subject of the relationship between the Association and players at the Convention.
Mr Hogan said it is important to remember that "we are all, players and officials, part of the same association".
"Our over-riding duty, in whatever capacity we are involved, is to pass on our Association and our games to the next generation in a healthier state than we inherited it," he said.
"We must ensure that they (players) are treated decently and reasonably and given every facility to develop and express their sporting talents to the fullest.
"For their part, players need to be aware of the reciprocal requirements of respect and consultation.
As club members they are aware that it is an enormous voluntary effort that supports the progression from juvenile in the club pitch to adult in Croke Park.
"Let us talk to each other, resolve our difference when we have them, and above all let us trust each
other as members of the common GAA family.
"In this connection I want to pay tribute to the members of our intercounty panels. They are decent people, fine sportsmen, and excellent ambassadors for Tipperary."
