Veteran Middlesbrough defender Colin Cooper has signed a new one-year deal.
The 38-year-old has agreed his latest contract after again proving capable of providing the back-up to Steve McClaren’s frontline defenders during another successful season.
Cooper, who emerged from the club’s junior ranks to sign a first professional contract in July 1984, had two years at Millwall and five at Nottingham Forest before returning to Teesside in August 1998, and has made more than 400 appearances for the club.
