High-intensity lights at a top-secret “cannabis factory” were shining so brightly today they dazzled British police officers driving past.

Had it not been for the powerful glare coming from the residential address on Wootton Bassett Road in Swindon, Wiltshire, the squad car would have driven on.

A police spokeswoman said tonight: “Uniformed officers were driving past when they were alerted to bright lights shining from the address.

“On closer inspection they saw what they believed to be the cultivation of a controlled drug.”

After raiding the three-storey property, the police found it had been transformed into a “highly organised factory for the cultivation of cannabis“.

Wiltshire Police said they are appealing for information, in particular about people of Oriental extraction who may be connected to the address.
