Actress Linda Fiorentino has won a two-year legal battle against a producer who expected her to waive the no-nudity clause in her contract and perform graphic sex scenes in a film about the artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
The husky-voiced actress, who starred in The Last Seduction and Jade, claimed the film’s producer, Karil Durka, decided to exploit her to raise financing for the film by adding nude and sex scenes with her co-star Ben Kingsley to the script.
When she refused, Durka sued her in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming she had walked off the set. Fiorentino filed a counterclaim for fraud and defamation.
His case has been dismissed by a judge and Fiorentino has dropped her counterclaim.
“No money changed hands but she walks away with her head held high,” a friend told the New York Post. “She’s a heroine to every young actor in Hollywood because she stood up for herself and won.”
