Munster make two changes for Champions Cup as Conway and Ryan agree new deals

Munster head coach Anthony Foley has named his starting XV for Munster’s Champions Cup trip to Italy to take on Treviso on Sunday.

Although there is a remote chance of them qualifying for the knockout stages depending on results elsewhere, it will more than likely be their final game in the competition this season.

The two changes are both in the pack, with John Ryan named at tighthead and Donnacha Ryan returning to the second row.

Otherwise it’s as you were with Simon Zebo at full-back and Keith Earls and Ronan O'Mahony on the wings.

Francis Saili and Rory Scannell continue their midfield partnership, with Ian Keatley and Conor Murray named in the half-back line.

Billy Holland, Tommy O'Donnell and captain CJ Stander continue in the back row while Dave Foley joins Ryan in the second row and Dave Kilcoyne and Mike Sherry make up the front row.

Earlier today the province confirmed that Andrew Conway and John Ryan have both agreed new deals.

Conway has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain with the province until June 2018 while Ryan has penned a three-year deal that will see him stay until June 2019.

"It is great to continue with the good news on the contract front and we are very happy to see Andrew and John commit their futures to Munster,” Foley said.

"Andrew has come in showing us what he is capable of and watching him develop within the squad has been great to see while in the pack John continues to excel in the front row, alternating between two difficult positions.

"Both players provide a level of versatility that is hugely beneficial to the squad."
