Sabena is to suspend all of its flights from Wednesday. It's understood that the Belgian national carrier is to be placed in liquidation this week, after the company failed to attract investment.
It's now looking as if Sabena is to become the first national airline to go, following the tragic events of September 11 in the United States.
Sabena does not fly into Ireland but has a code-share agreement with Aer Lingus to use its planes.
