Celtic have admitted defeat in their attempts to sign Erik Huseklepp.
Celtic had been involved in protracted negotiations with SK Brann over the striker, who declared himself willing to waive a scheduled bonus worth a reported £180,000 if he was sold.
But Celtic assistant manager Johann Mjallby has admitted there is no chance of a deal being reached to bring the 26-year-old to Parkhead.
Mjallby said: “It‘s dead. We put in a bid that we thought was fair enough. They didn‘t agree with that.
“You can say that‘s down the drain and we‘ll look for other targets.”
