Prospects of tomorrow’s meeting at Sedgefield taking place look bleak.

Officials have announced an 11am inspection later this morning but nine millimetres of rain have already fallen with more forecast.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore is prepared to give the meeting every chance but conceded that the rain would have to stop falling pretty sharpish.

“We’ll inspect at 11am,” said Moore.

“We’ve had a bit of rain and it is still raining pretty heavily now. It would need to stop almost immediately but the forecast says it is going to rain until the early hours.

“We’ll give it every chance but it doesn’t look too good.”
