Burma opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has resumed her European tour after a brief bout of illness prompted by exhaustion.

The Nobel peace laureate is visiting the Swiss parliament and meeting Cabinet officials today.

A dinner in her honour in Berne last night was cancelled after she fell ill during a news conference.

Swiss officials said she went to bed early and the incident was nothing serious.

But her personal physician told The Associated Press in Rangoon today that he is concerned about the hectic schedule of her trip.

Ms Suu Kyi’s doctors say she has low blood pressure and suffers from travel sickness but has no major health problems.

The 66-year-old is visiting Switzerland, Norway, Britain, Ireland and France during her two-week visit, the first in 24 years.
