Irish company Eontec has announced the opening of a new office in Tokyo, Japan, that will serve as the foundation for the company's expansion across Asia Pacific.
Eontec is a provider of Enterprise Java Beans [EJB]-based multi-channel banking software. The demand by financial service institutions for open scalable technology to revolutionise their customer service systems seems to be growing and the new office will support this demand.
David Jones will be managing director of the Tokyo office and will also head up Eontec's subsidiary office in Singapore and lead sale activities in the remainder of the Asia Pacific region.
As one of the largest financial services markets in the world, Japan will be a key focus for business development over the coming years.
David Jones, a graduate of DCU, moved to Japan in 1986 to develop financial software and two year later joined Misys. Before joining Eontec he headed up the Asia Pacific division of Cognotec.
