England’s Greg Owen carded a second-round 64 to lead by a shot in the clubhouse in the second round of the Frys.com Open in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Owen began this morning fourth behind first-round leader Nick O’Hern.
But the Australian could manage only a two-under 68 – and Owen, who went round in 65 yesterday, was a shot better today to stand at 11 under.
That put him one shot clear of American Justin Leonard, tied for second with his compatriot Rickie Fowler – who still had one hole to play.
O’Hern had slipped to fourth.
But several low scorers were among more than half the field still out on the course, and there was still much to play for – with the projected cut at one under.
