Eddie Ahern will be fine to take up his two mounts on the final day of Royal Ascot after a nasty incident at the track on Friday.

Ahern’s intended mount in the Albany Stakes, Sendmylovetorose, became fractious in the stalls and tried to escape underneath, unshipping the jockey.

The filly was withdrawn and Ahern was stood down for the rest of the day but he is fit enough to ride Spanish Duke in the Duke Of Edinburgh and the popular Overturn in the Queen Alexandra Stakes.

Overturn’s trainer Donald McCain said: “I spoke to him last night and he told me he’d be fine.”
