An Americanised re-make of the Asian 'A Tale of Two Sisters' that, while not nearly as good, manages to emerge on the credit side.
Horror films must, of course, have the expected elements that render them somewhat devoid of true originality and here we have a film that certainly isn’t original in plotline but watchable nevertheless.
Browning plays a girl who returns home from a stay in a mental institute following the tragic death of her mother in a fire to find that dad (Straitham) has installed a new girlfriend (Banks) … the nurse who was looking after mum at the time of the accident.
Ah, but was it an accident?
OK, so the film could have been much better – couldn’t they all? – but it’s still a decent and gripping chiller.
