Jockey Charlotte Kerton was suspended 42 days and trainer George Prodromou fined £7,500 in relation to the running and riding of Valmari at Kempton.

Charges against the pair related to intentionally failing to ensure the seven-year-old ran on its merits in the betdaq.co.uk Handicap Stakes on April 16.

Valmari finished 10th at odds of 33-1, beating just three home.

A British Horseracing Authority disciplinary panel also suspended the mare from running for 40 days from May 5.

The BHA’s panel’s reasons will be published within the next seven days, alongside Charlotte Kerton’s suspension dates.
