Kevin Prendergast has confirmed Irish 1000 Guineas runner-up Dimenticata will run in the Audi Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.
The Danetime filly defied her starting price of 66-1 to get within a quarter of a length of Jim Bolger’s brilliant filly Finsceal Beo.
As a result of that performance, Prendergast is keen to give his filly another crack at 10 furlongs after she was touched off in a Listed race at Gowran the last time she tried that particular trip.
A decision on Prendergast’s other entry, Muluk, is expected later in the week.
“Dimenticata runs in the Pretty Polly.” said Prendergast.
“She ran very well to finish second to Finsceal Beo in the Guineas and the one that finished third (Peeping Fawn) finished second in the Oaks, so the form is very good.
“She ran just short of a mile and a quarter in the McCalmont Stakes at Gowran and she was just beaten a short head.
“She is by Danetime so I wouldn’t have thought the trip would be a problem for her,” he told At The Races.
“Whether Muluk will run in the race will de discussed after she works tomorrow morning.”
