Madonna is determined to silence critics who have accused her of lip-synching segments of her live shows by giving one of her best ever vocal performances tonight.
The Hung Up singer, who will sing five songs from her new album Confessions On A Dancefloor at intimate London venue Koko, was deeply hurt when pal Sir Elton John claimed she mimed on stage during her Reinvention tour.
John said recently: "The official reason I heard was that she can't sing while doing the full crab position. Nobody's paid to come and see you do yoga. They've paid to hear you sing."
But Madonna is adamant she will prove her vocal talents stand up to the acid test when she appears alongside a live band without backing singers.
The 47-year-old's spokeswoman Barbara Charone says: "Madonna will be singing live at Koko and performing with a live band. The claim that she lip-synchs was always wrong."
