UK based Christmas savings club Park Group today said business had finally picked up after the collapse of rival Farepak.
The industry saw confidence slump after Farepak went into administration in 2006 leaving around 150,000 savers £40m (€51m) out of pocket.
Birkenhead-based Park saw customer numbers slump by a third as a result, with the number of agents it used to co-ordinate neighbourhood sales also down.
But in an update for the past year to March 31, the group said the number of savers was now on the up, with an extra 38,000 agents on board. Orders for Christmas this year are 17% higher than the prior year.
The group said: “It is very encouraging to report that the expected recovery in customer confidence has materialised.”
