Graigue-Ballycallan put up a brave fight and kept the pressure on the champions from the start.

Graigue-Ballycallan had taken the lead on numerous occasions but the force of Athenry's attack eventually broke their defiant defence to net three goals.

Athenry stepped up a gear and showed the flare that had brought them to the finals.

It was not to be Graigue-Ballycallan's day as the reigning champions stormed ahead in points to keep the coveted title.

Final score: Athenry 3-24, Graigue-Ballycallan 2-19.
