Limerick gets €2.2m research facility

Minister for Defence, Willie O’Dea, has announced a new €2.2m research and development facility in Limerick.

Minister for Defence, Willie O’Dea, has announced a new €2.2m research and development facility in Limerick.

The investment in Annacotty, Co Limerick, will create 25 new jobs over the next 18 months.

Advanced Modular Solutions are to make the investment with support from Enterprise Ireland.

Advanced Modular Solutions specialise in the development of energy efficient power-conversion technologies for the telecommunications, automotive and industrial markets.

The new R&D centre in Limerick will focus on the development of new energy efficient lighting technologies.

Making the announcement the Mr O'Dea said: "Advanced Modular Solutions' investment in a new R&D facility in Annacotty and the creation of 25 new high-skilled jobs is a significant endorsement for the Limerick and the Mid-West region and confirms just how highly its workforce is regarded by employers."
