Anglo Irish Bank is due to announce the single biggest loss in Irish corporate history.
The State-owned bank is preparing to post losses of between €10bn and €12bn in the coming weeks.
The losses will deplete the banks capital reserves, triggering the need for more cash from the Government which has so far invested €4bn.
