Barry Hills’ Ghanaati will face nine rivals as she bids to add to her Group One tally in Saturday’s Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket.

The 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes winner finished third behind Rip Van Winkle on her latest start in the Sussex Stakes and while there was no disgrace in that effort, connections believe she was not at her best.

“She is in good form and we are very pleased with her. She should have a good chance,” said Hills’ son and assistant Charlie.

“She is coming back to taking on fillies again after her run in the Sussex.”

Fellow three-year-old Fantasia returns to Group One level after a confidence-booster at Doncaster last time out while Sir Michael Stoute’s Strawberrydaiquiri steps up in class after winning her last four starts.

Irish Guineas runner-up Lahaleeb and Clive Brittain’s Nashmiah complete the Classic generation.

The Cheveley Park Stud duo of Stoute’s Heaven Sent and James Fanshawe’s Spacious add strength in depth along with Eva’s Request.

French challengers Alnadana and Sahpresa complete the field.
