Andrew Kotting’s Gallivant (BFI) is a striking and very unusual part documentary, part film.
The idea of walking around Britain, seeing the sights and meeting some pretty strange people takes on a completely different tack when the walkers include the eccentric Gladys, 84, Kotting’s grandmother, and the director’s eight-year-old daughter, Eden, who has Joubert Syndrome and communications via sign language.
The two-disc release comes with 11 short films, a new short film from Kotting, plus two excellent booklets.
