RTÉ will broadcast the latest instalment of the Munster SHC saga between Limerick and Tipperary, after chiefs from the state broadcaster met with Munster Council officials this morning.

Coverage of Sunday afternoon's second replay between the sides will be shown live on RTÉ One. Marty Morrissey and Anthony Daly will provide match commentary with Darragh Maloney presenting the programme from 3.10pm.

The game at the Gaelic Grounds has a 3.30pm throw-in.

Munster officials were not optimistic that RTÉ would show the second replay live and this had caused uproar in the respective counties and from GAA fans in general, who pointed to RTÉ's U-turn in showing last Sunday's Dublin v Meath replay in the Leinster football championship.

Last Saturday's first replay between Limerick and Tipperary was a huge ratings winner on RTÉ Two - it attracted an average audience of 360,000 and peaked at 564,000 viewers.

The weekend's other Munster semi-final, which saw Waterford account for defending champions Cork, had an average of 342,000 viewers tuned in, with an audience peak of 513,000.

The Limerick-Tipperary replay will form part of a triple-header of Gaelic games on RTÉ Television on Sunday.

The Connacht SFC semi-final between Leitrim and Galway (2pm) and the Dublin v Offaly Leinster SFC semi-final clash (4pm) are both being shown on RTÉ Two.
