French Open champion Anastasia Myskina crashed out of Wimbledon today when she was beaten 4-6 6-4 6-4 by American Amy Frazier on court two.

The Russian number two seed, facing her second game in as many days after her match with Hungarian Aniko Kapros had been held over by the rain delay, admitted victory at Roland Garros had taken a lot out of her.

And despite taking the opening set, she visibly tired against her 31st seed opponent as today’s match went on.

While she showed glimpses of the passing shots which had taken her to glory in Paris, and battled to save some five match points, in the end a second successive Grand Slam final appearance proved beyond her.

The Russian will get little chance to reflect on her defeat, though, as Myskina is scheduled to play in the women’s doubles with Vera Zvonareva later this afternoon.
