John Travolta is “beyond happy” to have become a father again.

The ‘Wild Hogs’ actor’s wife Kelly Preston gave birth to 8lbs 3oz Benjamin last week and the family – including their 10-year-old daughter Ella Bleu – have thanked fans for their messages of congratulations.

Writing on behalf of his family on their website, John said: “We are overjoyed to announce the arrival of our son, Ella's baby brother, Benjamin Travolta. Born November23, 2010 in Florida, Benjamin is healthy and doing beautifully.

“Thank you for the congratulations messages and wishes - we are beyond happy about the newest addition to our family."

Many other celebrities have also passed on their own messages wishing the family well, with Keisha Whitaker, wife of Oscar winning actor Forest Whitaker, saying: “We are completely overjoyed about the birth of Benjamin. We love the Travoltas so much."

Producer Donald Zuckerman -who has worked with Kelly on films including ‘Casino Jack’, and ‘Broken Bridges’, said: “It's absolutely wonderful that Kelly gave birth to such a big strapping boy, his birthday will be around Thanksgiving Day, which is wonderful."

The couple also had another son, Jett, who tragically passed away aged 16, almost two years ago, when he suffered a seizure while at a family holiday to the Bahamas.
