Ireland’s Ken Doherty has secured a place in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship after beating Dominic Dale 9-3 in York today.

Ireland’s Ken Doherty has secured a place in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship after beating Dominic Dale 9-3 in York today.

The Dubliner led his Welsh opponent 6-2 overnight and won three frames in succession today to secure a berth in the last-eight.

He will face another Welshman, Mark Stevens, in the quarter-finals.
