Shelbourne 2, Longford Town 1

Jason Byrne scored twice as Shels stretched their lead at the top of the table with a third win on the spin.

Shels took the lead on 19 minutes. Jamie Harris flicked Owen Heary's cross in from the right and Philip Keogh failed to clear and Byrne drilled the ball home.

But Eric Lavine levelled for Town with a stunning strike on the half hour, turning to blast home from the edge of the area.

But Byrne hit the winner from a 59th minute penalty, his 13th league goal of the season.
