The United States could review its exports of dual-use technologies to Indonesia if the investigation into the Bali bombings finds high-tech items from the US were used, US Under Secretary of Commerce Kenneth Juster said on a visit to Thailand.
The US currently reviews its trade with Indonesia in dual-use technologies, which have both commercial and military applications, on a yearly basis.
Juster said Washington currently had no evidence to suggest that US-made dual-use technologies were used in the blast, but said, "Obviously anywhere in the world that we discover licenced items are being diverted for improper uses we would need to take swift enforcement action against the entities involved and then consider the broader policy issues of our overall licensing policy."
"Obviously as the investigation unfolds in Indonesia we will have a better sense of whether any high-technology items from the United States were involved in that," he added.
