Former Le Mans winner, 45 year old, Jan Lammers secured his second consecutive pole position in a thrilling qualifying session at Mondello Park this
afternoon.
He eclipsed the Scuderia Italia Ferrari of Christian Pescatori by just two tenths of a second.
The top four positions were covered by a mere nine tenths of a second on the championship's first visit to Ireland.
The championship battle is set for a head to head in tomorrow's race as the
top four all have realistic championship hopes.
The first ever FIA race to be held at Mondello Park will start at 5.30 this evening.
In the Ford Zetec qualifier, Cork's, Alan Dwyer will start tomorrow's race from pole aheasd of Alan Ring and George McAlpin.
