The original pink Rolls-Royce from the cult TV show Thunderbirds has fetched £80,000 (€130,000) in a film and entertainment auction.
Further stars of the show included the car’s model owner Lady Penelope, who sold for £20,000 (€32,500), and her faithful chauffeur, Parker, who was auctioned off for £27,000 (€44,000).
Lady Penelope, the glamorous International Rescue special agent, is dressed in her trademark real mink coat while Parker - who always replied to his boss’s directions with a world-weary ‘‘Yes, M’Lady’’ - sports his immaculate chauffeur’s uniform.
The props from the 1960s classic were part of an auction held at London’s Planet Hollywood yesterday.
The original letter Harry received inviting him to enrol at Hogwarts school in the film version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone fetched £24,600 (€40,000). Proceeds of that sale go to The Rainbow Trust.
A signed poster from the swashbuckling blockbuster Gladiator fetched £580 (€945), while a similar item from Raiders of the Lost Ark was auctioned off for £1,700 (€2,769).
