Ronnie O’Sullivan has almost certainly booked a place in the quarter-finals of the UK Championship after taking an 8-0 lead in his third round clash with Dave Finbow this afternoon.

Breaks of 64, 60, 68 and 130 helped O’Sullivan into an 8-0 lead and left him needing one more frame tomorrow to secure victory.

O’Sullivan took just 82 minutes to win all eight frames in the first session, allowing his low-ranked opponent to score 90 points.
