The estimated value of art taken from a Zurich museum by armed robbers has risen to around €120.5m, police said today.

The estimated value of art taken from a Zurich museum by armed robbers has risen to around €120.5m, police said today.

The raiders stole four paintings by Cezanne, Degas, van Gogh and Monet.

Officers called the raid a “spectacular art robbery”.

The paintings were taken on Sunday from the E.G. Buehrle Collection, one of Europe’s finest private museums for Impressionist and post-Impressionist art, by three masked men carrying pistols.
