Aer Lingus and Ryanair are reportedly among the most complained about airlines in Europe.

Reports this morning say figures from the European Consumer Centre Network show that more complaints are made against Irish airlines than those in 28 other European countries.

In 2005, a total of 218 complaints were received about Irish airlines, the vast majority of them against Aer Lingus and Ryanair.

This accounts for one-sixth of the total complaints.

Most complaints relate to flight delays, cancellations and loss or damage to luggage.
