Derry leapfrogged UCD off the foot of the table with their first win of the season.

Garry Beckett set the Candystripes on their way with the opening goal on 34 minutes.

Former Student Ciaran Martyn then added the second to kill off UCD's revival eight minutes from the end to leave his former club rooted to the bottom of the table.
