French President Jacques Chirac has been re-elected in a landslide victory over extreme-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, according to exit polls.

French President Jacques Chirac has been re-elected in a landslide victory over extreme-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, according to exit polls.

It is reported that Chirac received 82% of the vote, with Jean Marie le Pen recording just 18%.
