Troubled star Lindsay Lohan has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Troubled star Lindsay Lohan has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The Mean Girls actress lost control of her Mercedes convertible at around 5:30am on Saturday, hitting a kerb and trees, and was taken to Century City Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

After receiving a 911 call about the incident, Beverly Hills Police placed Lohan under arrest on suspicion of DUI after finding a small amount of a substance, thought to be cocaine, at the scene of the crash.

Lieutenant Mitch McCann of the Beverly Hills Police said it appeared as if Lohan was speeding when she lost control of the vehicle.

He also added the drugs found were "not on (Lohan's) person", but declined to reveal where they had been discovered.

Two people travelling in the car with the actress were not injured, and Lohan is not currently being held in custody.
