Mikael Magnusson is hoping Smart Enough can live up to his name when the five-year-old tackles Listed company at Doncaster on Saturday.
The son of Cadeaux Genereux is set to make his seasonal reappearance in the Doncaster Mile.
“He’s a likely runner. We had him gelded over the winter and he’s working very well now and we hope for a good run,” said the Upper Lambourn trainer.
“It looks a tough race but I’ve decided to go there.
“I think Doncaster will suit him as it’s a galloping track. We are happy with him and we have to start him somewhere.”
Smart Enough returned to action last August after 11 months off through injury.
He had been a progressive three-year-old in 2006, winning an ultra-competitive at York’s Ebor meeting and finishing fifth in the Cambridgeshire.
“He had a slight problem but we got him back the back-end of the year. He’s done very well and is bucking and screaming for a run,” Magnusson added.
