Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn should be fit to participate in Europe’s Ryder Cup match this month, despite withdrawing from the Omega European Masters this week.
The 30-year-old suffered what he feared was a dislocated shoulder, but a specialist has told him the injury won’t keep him out of the Ryder Cup team.
Bjorn suffered the injury halfway through his second round in Switzerland, but he played on and finished the round.
However, he started feeling pain and withdrew before the third round on medical advice.
News of his fitness will come as a great relief to Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance, who has described Bjorn as the best golfer on the team.
