Members of the Mexican community living here are to take part in a protest this evening, against human rights abuses in their home country.

They're demanding an end to violations against environmental workers in the Guerrero state.

Secretary General of Amnesty Ireland, Colm O Cuanachain, says people here have a special interest in Mexico and are concerned about ongoing human rights violations there.

He said the level of fear and intimidation is so great in Mexico that many natives had cause to think twice before taking part in tonight’s protest.
