British Rally champion Jonny Milner comfortably leads Kenny McKinstry in the Gibbs Aquada Manx International Rally two-thirds of the way through the three-day Isle of Man event.

British Rally champion Jonny Milner comfortably leads Kenny McKinstry in the Gibbs Aquada Manx International Rally two-thirds of the way through the three-day Isle of Man event.

Manx-born Mark Higgins lost four minutes and the rally lead today with a broken propshaft.

Milner commented: “We were having a cracking fight but now the rally has lost some of its spark.

“We will just carry on and keep out of trouble.”

Manxman Robert Watson is ninth overall and leads the production category, almost three minutes ahead of Welshman Sebastian Ling, both driving Mitsubishis.

Durham’s Guy Wilks leads Super 1600, three minutes ahead of local husband and wife team, Nigel and Michaela Cannell.

Of the original 65 starters, 49 face eight timed stages and 70 miles of competitive driving tomorrow before the 4pm finish in Douglas.
