Wayne Rooney gets walk-on part in new Alfie film

Wayne Rooney landed a walk-on part in Jude Law's new film, Alfie, after going to watch it being shot in Liverpool.

Wayne Rooney landed a walk-on part in Jude Law's new film, Alfie, after going to watch it being shot in Liverpool.

Rooney, 17, was said to have been over the moon at his role, even though he had to limp on to the set after injuring his ankle playing for Everton last weekend.

The Sunsays he was given the role after taking his brothers Graham and John to watch Jude in action.

Liverpool is doubling as Manhattan in the new version of Alfie even though the original film was set in London.

The newspaper says Rooney took 20 minutes to shoot his part.
