Holland 0 Ireland 1 - HT

Robbie Keane has fired Ireland into a half-time lead against Holland with a spectacular strike in the Amsterdam Arena tonight.

Keane was allowed to run free inside the Dutch half, and the Tottenham striker took aim before shooting home a superb strike from 25 yards in injury time.

In truth Ireland were the better team throughout the half.

Keane was busy throughout and was denied a goal by a great save from Van der Sar. He also hit the crossbar with a sensational overhead strike.

At the other end Holland have disappointed.
