Roy O'Donovan completed a big week for himself in front of scouts from English Championship side Burnley by scoring the winner at Belfield tonight.

His strike was to give Cork their first victory of the league season.

Both sides had chances in a lively first half, with Cork getting their noses in front a minute before the break.

Joe Gamble and Admir Softic combined to set-up O'Donovan, who finished crisply from 16 yards.

Keeper Michael Devine kept Cork in front with a good save from Alan Mahon's free-kick early in the second half.
