Tierney joins Connacht from Leicester

Ireland international Tom Tierney has joined Connacht from Leicester Tigers.

Ireland international Tom Tierney has joined Connacht from Leicester Tigers.

Tierney, aged 27 years, originally played for Richmond in Limerick before joining Garryowen after youth rugby.

He played for Munster and Ireland, winning 19 Munster caps and eight senior Irish caps, scoring one international try.

Tierney made his Irish senior debut in June 1999 against Australia but has not featured in the international side in recent years.
