Two fisherman are missing off the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean and four locals were admitted to hospital after being injured following flooding caused by the quake-created wave.
Bridges, fishing boats and cars were damaged in the archipelago that is off the eastern Africa coast, said Alain Payette, an official in President James Michel’s office.
He said no tourists were injured or went missing in the flooding. Seychelles is a major tourist destination.
