FAI reports ‘unprecedented’ demand for Euro 2016 tickets

The FAI has announced details of ticketing for the Euro 2016 finals in France.

The statement said: “An unprecedented number of supporters have so far applied since the UEFA ticketing portal opened at 11am last Monday.

The Republic of Ireland have been drawn into Group E for three matches in Paris, Bordeaux and Lille on June 13, 18 and 22 against Sweden, Belgium, and Italy respectively.

The largest allocation the FAI have is for the match against Sweden, at 13,000. Irish fans have been allocated 7,000 tickets for the Italy game and just 6,000 tickets for the match against Belgium.

The FAI said: “The application process of issuing tickets for the three Group E games is open to all Republic of Ireland supporters. However, preference will be given to Supporters Clubs, Season Ticket holders, Fans Direct members, and supporters who have accumulated a significant number of points.

“Priority allocation will also be given to supporters from affiliated football leagues and more than 2,000 clubs that fall under their remit, Board and National Council members, Club Ireland members, Jack Charlton Lounge patrons, Sponsors, and players/staff.”

Fans can apply for tickets directly at the UEFA ticketing portal, which will close on January 18 2016 and can be accessed here.

But don’t despair if you are unsuccessful at this stage. 42% of tickets in each stadium will be available for purchase by the general population so fans can still get tickets outside of the specific Irish allocation.

Ticket prices for the group stages matches are priced from €25 to €145.
