Lifford man Given feels its important that the public back the new initiative and support their local senior club.

“I am really pleased that the current Harps squad consists entirely of local players from both Donegal and Tyrone - and its good to hear that the club is committed to developing local talent.

“I understand that Donegal teams are achieving great success at underage level so its important that Harps continue to offer these lads the opportunity to play on the national stage.”

The Former Lifford Celtic and St Columbas College player feels that Harps' long-term strategy will mean an exciting future for the club.

Given said: "The young players coming through will require a little patience from everybody but with a new stadium on the way it gives everybody in the County a great incentive to work towards.

"It may be a difficult time but if everybody can work together to secure the future of the club then we all have something to look forward too.
