Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be joining the club’s fierce rivals, Real Madrid, the player’s agent has confirmed.
Reports in the Spanish press today indicated that Madrid coach Jose Mourinho was interested in linking up with the player he had at Inter Milan and there was even talk of a swap deal involving Kaka.
Barca appear willing to let Ibrahimovic leave after an indifferent first season at the Nou Camp, but Mino Raiola says his client is going nowhere – and certainly not to Madrid.
“I have never spoken to Madrid or about a possible swap with Kaka. I don’t know anything about this issue,” he told COM Radio today.
“Zlatan has a contract with Barca and he wants to show his quality when he is at 100%. Ibra is totally focused on the team and is anxious to start the season as a Barca player.”
Ibrahimovic’s place in the Barca line-up is under threat following the club’s signing of Spain striker David Villa this summer.
